It’s Saturday evening, we’re in for the night, and I just finished a weekend work day. At this point, nothing would taste better than wine and cheese. But, instead of my usual big fruity Cab or jammy Zin, I’m going to try something new (to me).
I’ve never tried an Arabesque. Typically described as a light, fruity red with flavors of cherry and raspberry, this particular 2006 Central Coast Reserve from Bridlewood Estate Winery has those flavors with just a little bit of spice (which I really like). The wine is a red blend made in the Rhone style, including Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Syrah, Viognier, and Counoise grapes.
I also decided to pair the light, fruity, red wine with some Brie on thin sesame rice crackers. This wine and cheese pairing – amazing!
In closing, I’m glad I chose to try something new. Now, I can’t wait to try all the different Arabesques, and find new wines to enjoy on the weekend.
