The weekend is not over yet and I’m thinking of doing my version of some comfort food for a relaxing Sunday. I won’t lie, I have a huge craving for Italian food right now and Hello Vino recommends Chianti as a go to varietal for a classic, americana, red sauce dish (a tasty food and wine pairing). Sangiovese or a good Syrah/Shiraz would be excellent options as well, however, I happen to have a bottle of Chianti on hand (purchased in Italy… from the countryside right outside of Florence). Winner!
The bottle pictured above is a Chianti Colli Senesi Denominazione Di Origine Controllata E Garantita 2006. This stuff was amazing and a few bottles made their way back to the U.S. with me. The region/countryside was beautiful, and this wine was fantastic. If you can get your hands on this bottle, I highly recommend it. I’ll admit, I did find it tough to locate this wine when I got back home, but if I get a Web site or contact information… I’ll share it with you.
