A local source for food & wine events… and some killer New Year’s parties to consider

Hello Everyone,

BostonEventGuide.com

I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the Fall Wine Fest a couple weekends ago thanks to BostonEventGuide.com, a leading resource for the best events in Boston.

After entering the room at Vinalia, I was able to sample delicious food & wine pairings from Japan, Italy, Chile, the U.S., Germany, Argentina, Australia, South Africa, Spain, and Portugal. This was pretty cool because I got to mingle with a bunch of people, and test the Hello Vino food and wine pairing service on a few people.

My favorite food and wine pairing of the night was…

Spain:

Food: Orange Rice Salad with a Dijon mustard vinaigrette and tender chicken.

Wine: Cellar el Masroig Blend, Les Sorts Jove Montsant (Grenache Blend)

My Wife’s favorite of the night…

South Africa:

Food: Boerewors Braii (pork) BBQ sausage with roasted red peppers and onions

Wine: Wildekrans-Walker Bay (Pinotage)

I was impressed with the number of events Boston Event Guide holds throughout the year.

With roughly 100 events to pick from, if you ever have one of those weekends when you want to do something different, you know, that urge to break the normal routine stuff, Boston Event Guide will recommend a bunch of events you can attend.

I caught up with Jeff Popkin, owner of Boston Event Guide to discuss the Fall Wine Fest, and two killer New Year’s Eve parties coming up. Listen to what Jeff had to say…

The next BIG event on the radar is The Resolution Ball New Year’s Eve. This party is Boston’s Longest Running New Year’s Eve Gala, and produced by the crew at Boston Event Guide.

Option #1: You can enter 2010 in style at the Top of the Hub which has a spectacular view of Boston’s skyline from every table! This is a black tie optional event. Baller.

Option #2: Get down at Cyclorama, an impressive and historic venue located in the stylish South End neighborhood of Boston. Surrounded by the largest collection of Victorian brownstones in New England and representing the height of urban industrial chic. The venue features a dazzling copper skylight dome atop a round and brick-lined 23,000-square foot space.

These two parties sound insane! If you live in the Boston area, you should investigate this opportunity.

Maybe Hello Vino will pair up some killer hors d’oeuvres and dinners with you favorite wines… then tackle the various styles of bubbly you can ring in the New Year with… from the Top of the Hub.   :)

Cheers!

Jim from Hello Vino
