Major League Baseball Postseason Pairings
The 2010 Major League Baseball Postseason starts today. Although you probably won’t be sipping a glass of wine at the ballpark (if you’re lucky enough to score tickets), you can uncork your favorite bottle of wine at home, dig into some food, and cheer your team on.
We figured we could round the bases with some recommended food and wine pairings that will suit your October baseball addiction. In addition, Hello Vino will try to predict the outcome of each series.
Postseason Pairings:
Texas (Chicken Fried Steak with Pinot Noir) vs. Tampa Bay (Trout with Sauvignon Blanc)- Going Fishing…Rays win this series
Minnesota (Wild Rice & Chicken with Rosé) vs. New York (Classic Cheese Pizza with Barbera)
- Yankees in a New York Minute
Cincinnati (Chili with Malbec) vs. Philadelphia (Cheese Steak with Merlot)
- Ringing the Liberty Bell…Philly takes it
Atlanta (Fried Chicken with Sémillon) vs. San Francisco (Garlic Fries with Champagne)
- Giant series win…San Francisco advances
Early Ballpark Pickings:
Peanuts: Break the shells and uncork a Fumé Blanc style Sauvignon Blanc that has some creamy citrus
Popcorn: Pop a chilled Chardonnay and you’re in business
Enjoy the wine. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the games.
Cheers!
The Hello Vino Team
