Chocolate Fondue: Have some wine & dip into something different
Over the weekend we hit The Melting Pot in Bedford/Burlington, MA for a little wine and dessert for a birthday. After browsing the menu, the birthday girl chose the Yin & Yang chocolate fondue (half dark chocolate and half white chocolate artfully swirled for a perfect balance of flavors). Dessert features mouthwatering chocolate fondue served with dipping items including fresh strawberries, banana bites, cheesecake, marshmallows, pound cake and brownies.
The Melting Pot (this particular location) routinely offers a few themes including Double Date night, Girls’ Night Out every Monday, Fondue and a Flick, plus provides a great atmosphere for holiday parties and birthday celebrations. In addition, a gluten-free menu is available.
Although the dessert is delicious, it’s not the only dipping item on the menu. You can order creamy cheese fondue, lively salads, choose from four flavorful fondue cooking styles plus a variety of entrĂ©es including filet mignon, lobster, breast of chicken, duck, shrimp, salmon and more. The Melting Pot also features a full bar (complete with specialty drinks) and an extensive wine list to fit all our patrons’ tastes.
What wine pairs with chocolate fondue?
Since we have some dark chocolate mixed with white chocolate, there are a couple great pairings you could try.
Syrah - Available by the bottle from the full wine list. This red wine with blackberry, plum, and jamminess is delicious with the melted chocolate.
Merlot - Available by the glass, and a good one was Kenwood Vineyards Merlot, “Yulupa” (California).
Muscat - For the sweet tooth. This wine with spice, honey, and fruit cocktail is great with white chocolate and an interesting choice for this fondue swirl.
At The Melting Pot, fondue becomes a memorable and interactive four-course dining experience where patrons can “dip into something different.”
